Studio Prices
Since 1985 Sahall has sold her work through two exclusive agreements. From 1985 to 1995 she was represented exclusively by Dyansen Galleries and sold her work on a consignment basis for prices shown below in the “Gallery Retail” and “60% to Artist” columns which lists her retail selling prices by size and the amounts she received when her work was sold by Dyansen.
From 1995 through 2005 Sahall contracted with Zephyr Cove Publishing under an agreement where Zephyr Cove would directly purchase her original work and guarantee to publish a certain number of limited edition prints every year for sale in Japan. During this period she sold her original work to Zephyr Cove, based on size, for the exceptional low prices shown in the “Publisher” column. While these prices for original work were very low compared to her history of gallery consignment payments, they were justified because of the purchase guarantee for all originals and limited editions guaranteed by the agreement. In 2006, after experiencing years of deflation and economic turmoil, the Japanese art market collapsed and Sahall and Zephyr Cove mutually and amicably agreed to end their professional relationship.
After 20 years of non-stop work and travel with frequent trips to Japan, Susan recognized the end of this chapter as an opportunity. She decided to take advantage of the break to re-energize her body, mind and creative spirit. She stopped all marketing efforts and enthusiastically begin to explore new creative directions that had been sublimated during a 20 year period of constant commercial pressure for the creation of her art.
In 2007 she sold her home in Florida and moved to the Republic of Panama in Central America.
She has spent the last 5 years completing her expatriation to Panama and exploring and creating new work. She is now ready to return to the market. During this reentry period, as she explores future relationships with galleries, dealers and publishers, she is offering her existing paintings for sale through this website at the same low prices that she sold to Zephyr Cove under their publishing agreement. These prices are shown in the “Available Now” column below and are available for purchase at 60% to 70% less than the established retail prices her work sold for in galleries for the last 30 years. This special pricing will be available until Sahall enters into new professional relationships for the traditional retail marketing of her work. This website displays her current work as well as paintings from past decades that she selected to keep for her personal collection and have never been offered for sale. Available Now – The current price of Sahall paintings being offered for sale.
Gallery Retail Price – Based on size, these are the average prices that Sahall’s paintings were sold for in exclusive U.S. galleries through 1980 to 1995. In the early nineties her work increasingly began to go to Japan where it sold for higher prices than in the U.S..
60% To Artist – Sahall consigned her work to the galleries and received 60% of the price upon sale.
Publisher – In 1995 Sahall agreed to sell her work directly to a Japanese publisher. She was paid an agreed price, based on size, upon completion of each original work. The publisher also guaranteed to publish a specific number of limited edition serigraphs annually. Sahall was paid in-full for each limited edition upon completion of her signing and numbering all of the prints in the edition. In return for the guaranteed published limited editions and non-contingent payments upon completion of work, Sahall agreed to sell her new original work to Zephyr Cove for the exceptional low prices shown in the Publishers column.

Hi!
My husband purchased an original print limited edition of The Sun Room, in 1986. Is it authentic. He has a certificate from Intercontinental Fine Arts LTD, Montreal, Quebec ?
Thanking you in advance for your input,
Marie
Good Day, I own a Sahall, “Patio” limited edition, could you pls tell
me the current value. I have it hanging in my office and must list for
business purposes. Thank you, Leila
I recently purchased a watercolour with an acidic washed look with Sahall’s signature. It is unlike any of the work I see on her site and thought perhaps it was an early work or print of an early work. It is a haunting etching of a man holding a small female toddler, with an acidic wash of blues and reds 11′ by 17′. Could you let me know the title of this emotional piece. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.
Dear Leone,
I’m very sorry to have to tell you that Susan Shepard (Sahall) passed away last year. I’m sorry that there is no way to provide you the information that you seek.

I have a Sahall signature painting 1/950 painting of 3 boys and a girl 2 boys are playing a instrument and 1 boys juggling balls and girl looks amused
I have 2 pieces that I believe are Susan’s. One is for sure. It’s a beautifully framed oil on board of a young boy that I have had for about 40 years now. The other one was purchased along with it but is not signed. It is an oil on canvas, framed the same and is of a young girl. I have no paperwork for them. However, they were bought by an interior decorator named Cliff Breeden back around 1979 or so. I would like to have more info on them and possibly sell them. Please feel free to email or call me at 786-389-9905.
Thank you,
Brian Lima
I’m very sorry to tell you that Susan passed away about 5 years ago. We keep her site up as a tribute to her and a place that fans can buy additional works from her estate.
